NCSS Workshop
The 14th International Workshop on Networking, Computing, Systems, and Software
To be held in conjunction with CANDAR'23
The primary objective of this workshop is to provide a timely platform for the exchange and dissemination of innovative ideas, techniques, and research within the domains of networking, computing, systems, and software. We welcome original and unpublished works, as well as:
- position papers,
- undergoing work,
- preliminary version of a paper, and
- extended version of previously published paper.
Please note that this workshop operates on a non-refereed basis, meaning that all submitted papers will be accepted for publication and presentation, provided they adhere to the standards of well-formatted technical papers in the area of computing and networking. Authors bear the responsibility for the originality, significance, clarity, and quality of their submissions. Submitted papers will be published as-is. For clarity, please append “(preliminary version)” or “(extended version)” to the paper title if applicable.
Submission Instruction
- Submission site: EasyChair
- Abstract should be submitted through EasyChair by the NCSS abstract submission due
- Registration fee must be paid by the Registration due.
- Papers should be submitted through EasyChair by the NCSS paper submission due.
- Authors indicate their choice of one of the workshops where the oral presentation will be included. The presentation will be scheduled within a session of the chosen workshop.
- Authors can choose NCSS poster option if they prefer to present their work through a poster at the symposium venue.
- In contrast to the CANDAR main symposium and other workshops, submitted papers for the NCSS workshop should be in their definitive camera-ready format and must include the names and affiliations of the authors.
- You may upload revised versions until the submission due date.
- Once the NCSS abstract submission deadline has passed, please be aware that the selection of a workshop oral presentation or a poster presentation cannot be altered, even though Easychair may permit changes.
- For paper submission, you need to login EasyChair as an “author”, choose “new submission” menu. Submissions should include abstract, key words, the e-mail address of the corresponding author.
- Submitted papers will be published as-is.
Paper format
- Papers can be IEEE format or non-IEEE format.
IEEE format
- Authors can submit the PDF using IEEE standard US-letter two-column format. Please see Manuscript Templates for Conference Proceedings for the details.
- Title, Authors, Affiliation, Address, Abstract, Keywords must be written in English.
- TThe paper body can be in any language, including English, Japanese, Chinese, Korean, etc.
- If you want to include the non-English version of Title, Authors, etc, they must be written in the footnote of the first page.
- Paper length should be 2-10 pages.
- The PDF file should not contain page numbers and should not be protected against copying, editing, and printing.
- Papers with IEEE format will be published in BNCSS.
non-IEEE format
- Author can submit the PDF of a 1-page English abstract in any format.
- Papers with non-IEEE format will NOT be published in BNCSS.
Publication
- Proceedings including all papers will be published and distributed at the CANDAR symposium site.
- All papers with IEEE format presented at the workshop site will also be published in The Bulletin of Networking, Computing, Systems, and Software (ISSN 2186-5140).
- Papers with non-IEEE format will not be included in this Bulletin.
- Note that papers of NCSS will NOT be published through CPS, and thus they are NOT included in IEEE digital library.
Presentation
- Submissions imply the willingness of at least one author to register, attend the conference, and present the paper.
- An oral presentation will be arranged to a session of a workshop specified by an author.
- A poster presentation will be arranged to a poster session.
- We will offer the option of online Zoom presentations for those delivering oral presentations who may encounter challenges attending the symposium in person. However, for poster presentations, on-site delivery remains mandatory.
- Presentation must be made in English.
VISA support
- We welcome submissions from overseas authors; however, please note that we are unable to provide support for NCSS paper authors in obtaining visas to visit Japan.
