Hiroshima International Airport has direct international flights to/from Seoul, Dalian, Beijing, Shanghai, Taipei, Bangkok, and Guam. It also has frequent flight to/from Tokyo International Airport 17 flights per day for each direction. JR Higashi-Hiroshima Station is the closest Shinkansen station from Hiroshima University (10 minutes by taxi). The Shinkansen is a network of high-speed railway with running speeds of up to 300km/h (188mph) connecting major cities in Japan including Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, Kyoto, Kobe, Fukuoka, Sendai, Niigata, etc. Also, JR Saijo Station is a local station close to the Hiroshima University.
